The item above was posted on Digg.com (not by me) and shows some amazing photos of the F-117 Stealth Fighter plane. Even though it's a weapon of war I have to admit I am fascinated by the science/technology/engineering thats makes it and other aircraft/tanks,etc possible. If only that incredible use of technology could be used to better mankind rather than destroy it.

I didn't put up any "Friday Fun Fotos" this week because 1) I guess I just got lazy and 2) I went out to see "Brokeback Mountain" last night (Friday-it's now after 2am Sat.) so I found these pics and thought I'd provide a link to them instead. Actually I may try out something different next Friday, although I'll still post pics I find fun or interesting.

I know this blog tends to be "all over the place" and doesn't really have a consistent theme, but that's how my mind operates. I find a lot of things interesting and love learning new things, and like to share that information. Maybe in the new year I'll come up with a more organized way of doing this blog because I really enjoy fooling around here. I know I don't have a large number of visitors here but I truly appreciate the people who do stop by, especially the regular readers that return and take the time to comment.

Anyway, I saw "Brokeback Mountain" earlier--the theater I went to was sold out--I was lucky to get a seat. It is a great movie and I'll even admit it made me a bit emotional (something I generally hide quite well). NO--I didn't cry at the movie (OK, I did tear up a bit after, on my walk home, but that was due to the cold wind blowing in my face...well-- it was...mostly). I won't give any plot details 'cause I wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it (I hate when people do that!) but I would definitely rate it **** (4 stars) !

Well, it's now after 3am, so I'd better go to bed since I am falling asleep at the keyboard.

Now I'm Confused!

Here's a bonus video this week...was going to use this yesterday for my "Video of The Week', but found the other anime one that I liked. I've been a fan of Bugs Bunny since I was a little kid, and that was a loooong time ago. Marvin The Martian is in it too, and he was also a favorite of mine.

Video Of The Week

The images in this video come from a Japanese anime series called "Chobits", which is about a small-town boy who moves to Tokyo to attend college. He has little money but finds a Persacon (a computer that looks like a person) in the trash and takes it home. The series is really quite funny if you should come across it on cable TV. I used to watch it on the On-Demand Anime Network channel, but haven't seen all the episodes and I don't currently have cable. It is also a Manga (comic book) series.

The song is from the Broadway musical "Avenue Q", which I haven't seen but would like to as it sounds like it's extremely funny. Odd thing I noticed is that this is the second video I put up here that has both anime AND a song from "Avenue Q' in it. And NO--I did not plan it but just happened to find these videos at different times--the previous one is from Dec. 14th.

Think that means I spend too much time on the internet?
Or not enough time looking for porn? (since I had time to watch videos)

A Time Of Giving

As we approach this festive holiday season one's thoughts turn to the joys of being with family and friends and also to the giving of gifts. While for most this is a happy time, there are those for whom things are not so cheerful. People who are less fortunate and are unable to afford even some of the basic necessities of life. It is with this thought in mind that I ask you to consider a donation to an organization that is attempting to alleviate a tragic situation. I speak of the F.F.S.B.--below are some photos of a few unfortunate boys this fine organization is trying to help. You may not have heard of this charitable group as it is relatively new, but the F.F.S.B. is working hard to solve a growing crisis in this country and around the world. As you can see from the photos, a donation to the Foundation For Shirtless Boys would help to provide much-needed attire for these tragic victims of shirtless-ness.

If you are unable to afford a cash donation, perhaps you would consider some other way to help these poor shirtless boys to keep warm during these cold winter days, maybe by cuddling with them under a warm blanket or even taking a hot shower or bath with one of them to provide some temporary comfort. You may even have other thoughts as to how to assist these poor shirtless boys to keep warm this holiday season. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Since last Friday my so-called "Fun Fotos" were actually drawings, I decided to continue in that vein with this week's "Video Of The Week" by posting this funny little anime music video.

Being a fan of Japanese anime, I especially enjoyed it. I found it using Google Video search, but the site it originates from is AnimeMusicVideos.org so it's only fair to mention them for the hard work put into makimg the video. This first video is from the silly category--a cute boy dancing--and I love the song that's playing (even have it as a ringtone on my phone).

This next video goes more towards the slightly dangerous category--or "why would you even think to try this?"

OK, I also came upon this video while searching and thought some of my vast (ha!) army of loyal readers would enjoy it--it is XXX-rated so beware! When I tried to access the site the video came from, I got a "403 Forbidden! Error message!" but was able to play it through the Yahoo! search video preview. The fact that it said it was forbidden meant I had to play it!

Christmas! Bah, Humbug!

Ok. I'm not really a Scrooge, but then I really don't celebrate Christmas, at least not for the past 30 years or so. A few times I have put up a small tabletop tree or a couple of decorations, but don't bother anymore because no one sees them but me anyway. It's not that I hate Christmas or anything, but just that I don't feel any special reason to celebrate. I don't have any family and I only have two friends who I don't see all that often. One of them doesn't care all that much about Christmas--Halloween is his favorite holiday!--and we never have exchanged gifts. If I had children or someone special to share it with, I'm sure the holiday would have some meaning for me. Not in a religious sense, 'cause I just don't believe in all that stuff--yeah I'm an atheist--I require scientific proof. I don't say this to offend anyone's religious' beliefs but that's my own view of things. I do think Christmas is a great concept--a time of giving and togetherness with family & friends. Although I believe everyday should be like that, not just reserved for one time of year.

Now the reason for this rather long-winded piece is simply because I was tagged by Elmo for the following item about Christmas and in my usual way, thought I should explain my answers (that's the scientific part of my mind acting up again) :

To Sleep, Perchance To Dream

Uggh...another day and another week to get through. That's how I feel right now, after waking up, then falling back asleep and waking up later than I wanted. Why is it that sleep seems better than waking life? Is it because I have interesting dreams--strange ones usually --but interesting? Or because while sleeping it's not as chilly or cold as I feel when I'm awake? Brrr... Or because I don't feel all the little aches and pains that are present while awake (especially while at work)?

These were the the thoughts I had when I first woke up, just before falling back to sleep this morning and I said to myself, I should post this to my blog, so here it is.

These photos are of the sewers of London, England...even though sewers are not something normally thought of as beautiful, I think these pictures show a strange beauty. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that even something usually thought of as ugly can have a beauty of its own when viewed in the right light.
